Our shared values!

In addition to curiosity about our research topics, we all value the following:

  • “Good Science” not just breakthrough results.

  • Integrity in our research process.

  • A rigorous safety culture.

  • Experimental failures as opportunities to learn.

  • Open communication and collaboration.

  • Respect for all backgrounds and experiences.

  • A safe, supportive, and welcoming research environment.

Scientific Outreach

We also value giving back to the community and helping support and foster the next generation of scientists. This year we participated in the Breakfast of Science Champions with other groups across the department to provide a learning experience for middle schoolers throughout Columbus. We had them build electromagnets and learn about how NMR reveals chemical structure because all molecules have a “magnetic fingerprint.”
